Brazil Santos is named after the port where Brazil's most famous coffees pass through. Santos is from the original Bourbon strain of Coffee Arabica brought to Brazil in the 18th century from the island of Bourbon, now Reunion. The bean produced by the Bourbon is the highest-grade coffee Brazil produces.
The coffee tree is actually a type of tropical evergreen shrub and will grow to a height between 16 and 40ft (all depending on growing conditions). They are however best kept to a height of 6ft if being grown for the bean.
They can be easily grown indoors as an attractive potted specimen, and during the summer months can be moved outside.
